What is a Professional Learning Passport
Professional Learning Passport is an innovative and versatile platform that empowers educators to document, reflect on, and share their practices. Endorsed by the Welsh Government, it serves as an accredited track record of all educators in Wales.
With its variety of functions and customizable features, every user's experience is unique, tailored to their individual needs.
The strategic direction
As I approached the PLP brand, my first task was to understand how it fits into educators' lives. With no existing data on how the platform was being used, I dove in headfirst and put on different mental hats. I put myself in the shoes of a young teacher in need of support, a workplace educator creating workbooks, and an experienced teacher seeking a new opportunity. The possibilities were endless, and it was clear that each user's experience would be unique and tailored to their individual needs.
At its core, PLP is like a set of Lego blocks. Just as three people can use the same blocks to create vastly different structures based on their needs and experiences, each user can leverage PLP in their own way to build their career.
This is how the brand direction was born:Building Blocks for Your Career.
Brand design
With the brand strategy in place, the design process for PLP flowed seamlessly. I crafted a visual language centered around the concept of ‘building blocks’ and modular designs that reflect the puzzle-like nature of the brand strategy. The resulting PLP brand features a range of customizable assets that can be used in a variety of contexts, from formal to playful and engaging.
